The Structure of MBBS Courses in the UK

Students must appear for the PLAB 1 (United Kingdom Medical Licensing Exam) to qualify for the second stage of this MD degree.

Practical Phase: It is also known as clinical rotation or externality / expertise. Doctors and professors teach the basics of hospital operations and treatment of patients. At the end of this stage, you will need to apply for PLAB.

Residency Program

Qualified PLAB students are eligible to apply for the residency program. The duration of this program is from 3 to 5 years, depending on the chosen specialty.

Students must work in hospitals and become specialists in their field. The PLAB test, also known as the license exam, is the final exam that you must pass. After passing this exam, you can act as a doctor in the UK or in any other country that is certified by the UK education system.
