WHY You Should BUY A NEW FORKLIFT?

When faced with the need for specific equipment in your company, one of the first questions that arise is: new or used?

Before explaining the reasons for buying new equipment, we have chosen some of the most common arguments that usually lead customers to look for a used forklift. We may be able to provide some fundamental clarifications on this topic.

“She will work little”

A forklift will never work short. It is a versatile, economical equipment that takes up little space, eliminates labor and is able to quickly pay off your investment only with the savings it generates in your process. You can imagine, at first, that it will work little, but once you are used to a forklift you will never be without it again. In a short time you change the “she will work little” for “how would I work without her?”.

“If it works, I’ll buy a new one”

This argument often raises great concern. There are two main reasons that justify the purchase of a forklift: your process is growing or it is modernizing. In both scenarios buying the wrong equipment can end up with a promising idea that could jumpstart your business. Remember that a forklift must optimize its process and reduce costs. If you choose a used forklift, make sure it comes from so that the evolution of your business is not limited by the acquisition of bad or, at the very least, wrong equipment.

But the new one is too expensive”

This is the reason for looking for used equipment in practically all cases, and in practically all cases it becomes, at best, a beautiful headache, either for those who are buying or for those who are selling. Used equipment, no matter how well renovated, will always be used equipment; you will never be sure of the provenance, component life, or quality of mechanics and periodic maintenance that has been performed on this machine over time. When choosing used equipment, make sure you are negotiating with people you trust, recognize the risks and at no time expect from it the same performance that a new machine brings. In some happy situations you can get good equipment, but in most cases “cheap is expensive” prevails.

“The economy is very unstable”

A country’s economy will always be going through bad times, and sometimes waiting for this situation to improve ends up becoming a very time-consuming strategy, causing good business opportunities to be lost along the way. Purchasing equipment at the wrong time or without having the financial means to keep the purchase is certainly a bad idea, but failing to make a good investment by constantly expecting that things will get better can take you down an endless road. Calculate the costs, evaluate the gains and, if the moment arises, allow yourself a good investment.

That said, here are some advantages that you benefit from when buying new equipment:

1. FUNDING

Today there are several options for bank financing that allow more flexible conditions for the purchase of new equipment. Lines of credit vary depending on the equipment you need, the bank you work with and the type of credit to which the equipment can be linked.

2. WARRANTY

This is one of the most solid reasons when it comes to buying new equipment, as it ensures the proper functioning of your forklift and the return on your investment for a long period of time. The Consumer Defense Code states that all equipment is subject to the Legal Warranty, but in used machines this period is short and the operating condition is reduced by the limitations of the equipment and the supplier.

3. PROCEDURE

Unlike used equipment, whose origin is, in most cases, unknown or doubtful, what prevails when buying a new machine is the certainty that it is in perfect conditions of use and that its parts are new and genuine. To buy a used forklift, you need to rely on a superficial and inaccurate assessment of use by the previous owner, unable to attest to the useful life of its components.

4. POSSIBILITY OF CHOICE

Finding a used equipment that meets your specific needs is quite difficult… how common it is to come across situations where the equipment used is not ideal for the activity you perform. When purchasing new equipment, you can evaluate the particularities of your operation, the conditions of your work environment, equipment variations and plan the purchase based on the expected result.
