About Greater New York Insurance

In 1968, Theodore C. Parker founded Erie Insurance Agency under the moniker Ted C. Parker Insurance. By the early nineties the company started to expand allowing Ted to acquire several small insurance firms, such as the Bill Peiffer, Mike Bluey, and Mary Grace Kreger Insurance agencies. In 1992, Ted formed a partnership with the current principal agent Pete Zaphiris, and re-branded as Parker Insurance Management Partnership.

Then in 1995, the partnership adopted a new fictitious name, Great Lakes Insurance Associates, to set the stage for the transition when Ted retired. Throughout the late nineties and into the new millennium, Great Lakes Insurance acquired numerous other insurance agencies to allow for unprecedented growth and expansion. The following agencies were purchased in this expansion: David E. Briggs, Peter A. George, David G. Schroeck, William B. Deuink, Kostrubanic, David R. Johnson, and The Gray Agency.

I have had an active claim with them since May 2019. One part of the settlement was completed but the rest keeps getting pushed out. I’ve reach out to 4 different individuals already and keep getting tossed around. My latest adjuster has been aggressive every time I’ve talked to him and doesn’t want to hear about the 90% of the claim remaining, instead he asking me to send him the receipt for the 10% of the payment. After getting frustrated chasing him down for 2 months to get the money I am owed I dropped an email to the VP of liabilities Sal Lepore and am still waiting on a response to how this adjustment for my remaining settlement will be made.

All I can be grateful for is that I planned ahead and saved or this injury settlement, GNYs lack of trust, follow up or execution could have screwed me up financially. Actively seeking council on how to address this with BBB.
