After placing ins claim as a result of hurricane Ida, we were told a desk adjuster would get back to us in 5-7 days. It has now been 12 days and after calling 6 times (on different days) we still have not even gotten a call back. Each call was marked as urgent after stressing to the receptionist the type of damage we were dealing with and still no email or phone call in return. Horrible, horrible experience at one of the most difficult times.

Please, under no circumstance should you make an agreement with this “insurance” company. It is more like a scam company. I’ve been paying for their insurance coverage for over 10 years, and they decided to break the contract for our homeowners insurance after hurricane Ida made landfall. After calling for three days in attempt to file a claim, they finally answer and rudely declared that we did not have coverage with them anymore and the policy was canceled. We have proof of payment for the last ten years, and they still refused to honor the policy. SFI participates in purely criminal and fraudulent behaviors, and will do anything to get out of paying a dime. Stay away from this criminal company.

Well, I guess I have learned the hard way why their rates were some of the lowest for my home in south Louisiana. SF is horrible to deal with after Hurricane Ida. The adjuster sent to my home low-balled his report by 75K and they will not send out a new adjuster. The contracted companies used to answer the phone for claims couldn’t care less about the policy holder.

Typical insurance company who operates by this principle: collect premiums and pay as little as possible for claims. Only upside to this company is that they will be cancelling over 27,000 policies this year. I will probably be one of them.

I would give them a zero if it were an option! Dealing with them has been worse than the experience of the storm itself and we staying in our home while the roof was ripped off and torrential rain poured on us and ceilings fell. Yeah, I’d gladly go thru that again before ever dealing with Southern Fidelity.

My homeowner’s insurance annual premium has gone from $1443 to $2033 (29% increase) to $3702 (82% increase) in 3 years. I’ve never put in a claim, and we haven’t had a storm come through here in over 25 years. No explanation letter, no attempt to justify the increase, just a renewal notice in the mail. Imagine a business having an 82% price increase and having the arrogance to just mail a statement and not think that their customer at least deserves an explanation. I’m calling them tomorrow, I can’t wait to hear the BS. They’re not too far away, maybe I’ll visit them in person.

They will deny claims and will not provide any true insurance on your largest investment; your home. We’ve gone through 2 claim denials for our roof and multiple reputable roofing companies agree that the damage is caused by wind. Rather than continuing to fight Southern Fidelity, we are paying cash for a new roof. Do NOT us this company… it seems like the cheaper option but you will not save any money.

5 Years of UNDER coverage at $1100.00 per year. now at year 6, $3400.00. no claims ever. went to USAA and purchased 2 to 5 times the coverage for $1000.00 less. Still costing me more than before but now at least my home is covered enough to be replaced in case of a catastrophic disaster. I was covered for $222,000 now $500,000 for $2300.00 per year. I would say that Southern Fidelity is fleecing its’ loyal customers now and at the time of great need. can’t get much lower than that on any scale. glad I’m gone before something bad happened. THANKS Southern Fidelity. Good luck staying in business.

It’s currently the final days of March. Hurricane Ida hit us in September. We’re still waiting to be paid for our hurricane damage from September. Every single day we make the call and they either don’t answer or say ‘dont worry tomorrow is the day.’ I’ve never been lied to so much by a company. Hiring an attorney. We needed to have the house sold by now. This is awful.
