Hiscox Business Insurance Reviews, Phone Number & Contact Details

I’m surprised by all the bad reviews. I’ve had Hiscox for a year and a half. I went with them because 1. They were more affordable than my other quotes. 2. They cover specialty businesses, such as my own. (Work with children – and at times mobile…I needed insurance to follow me or other instructors.) 3. The customer service rep was very detailed and helpful. Every time I’ve called the reps are always helpful and knowledgeable actually. I’ve (thankfully) never had to file a claim, so I can’t speak on that. But overall I’m happy, and I’m sticking with Hiscox.

This company is terrible. Made a claim almost 2 months and they haven’t paid yet.. they don’t answer emails, long waits on calls etc. avoid at all costs!

Not very easy to work with. Not up to date with technology. Nothing can be done online, everything has to be over the phone. You don’t know who you are talking with, how secure the phone call is, or have any way to checkback the progress of your request. Days after making a request, you call back and find out they have no record of your previous phone call. Then you go through the same process again. With today’s technology they really need to step up their game and their customer service. They are no longer the cheapest rates, just the cheapest service.

Hiscox had been providing liability coverage for my coffee shop. I contacted them to get a quote for liquor liability and was told that they do not provide such coverage. The next day I received an email stating that they had canceled my insurance policy. I called them immediately and explained that I was only gathering information, that I had not started serving alcohol, nor was I certain that I ever would. I was informed that just the inquiry was enough to cancel my policy. This is madness. I would avoid doing business with Hiscox.
