Enjoyed working at SAIF. A typical day involved code reviews, meeting with developers, and going over test cases and test plans. Management was also closely involved with the project so issues were brought directly to their attention and were immediately looked into.

The thrust of all of the company initiatives are politically based. The CEO and the Board of directors are appointed by the Governor. Therefore, all of the yearly focus is not driven by actual financial needs or growth potential.

I like many things about SAIF but one thing that grabs my attention so I really like to work in that environment was teamwork. The supervisory level was always helpful and supportive.

SAIF is the best Company/employer I have ever worked for. SAIF has really good training and team building skills, they are pro-health of all employees. They make it a fun and safe place to work. They are very well organized and have great communication throughout the company. They make you feel like it is your company.

Work life balance and benefits are the 2 biggest pros at SAIF. Ability to set schedule but work is fast-paced and requires quite a bit of travel. After a while some employees can work from home for a day per week. Senior management has gotten away from quality and moved to quantity. Not a good practice.

Great place to work with a lot of educational opportunities, room for growth, interesting projects to work on and fun people to work with. Work was challenging and kept me engaged.

I really enjoyed my time working with SAIF. If it wasn’t for an out of state move I would have retired from this company. The people, customers and our mission are fantastic. Work is hard, restructuring has been constant and frustrating at times, however it is a mindset to either push through it and get the job done or complain and make work-life worse. The pay could be a bit more competitive, however the benefits are outstanding and can’t be beat. Management overall is competent and gives a listening ear. If you’re willing to work hard and be a go-getter, the company will recognize you and climbing the ladder is possible. If you just expect opportunity to be handed to you, this isn’t the place. Work life balance is phenomenal as well as volunteer opportunities both in and outside company doors. Great place to work. Missing it.

SAIF is a company where you feel like part of the family from day one. You will get the help and training you need to get up to speed in your new job. You will get the tools you need to do the work and you will always have access to the resources you need to grow and advance in the company. The work is important and the people who work at SAIF are exceptional. SAIF is an extremely ethical company that truly cares about Oregon business and the dedicated workers who make our state a wonderful place to live. SAIF not only provides top notch health insurance, retirement and other coverage, they provide wellness programs, employee participation in community service, celebration of diversity and many opportunities to help you find the perfect work/home balance. It was tough to let go and retire because there is a reason why so many people spend 20 and 30 years with this company.

Andy Merrick and the Sassy onion crew make this place like home.

I would love for all of the many, many people who have been screwed over by SAIF to form a class action and sue this corrupt, thieving organization.

They need to be put out of business.

They refuse to ever call you back no matter how many times a day for weeks you call them. Also they don’t understand simple math.
